Our goal is to give students from poor families a helping hand with their education.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Just because one is poor does not mean that one should miss out on a proper education. We want every child to have a chance to avail himself of the opportunities that education opens up. We want to help every student achieve his full potential.
What We Do
Yayasan Teratai provides financial assistance at the beginning of the new school term every year. In special cases we help single families or families without income with living expenses. Yayasan Teratai also offer financial assistance where both parents have absconded and left the children with their grandparents.
In all cases we work with the schools, which nominate deserving students from needy families.

We realize the needs of the students we support in the early years is not the same as those who are at the end of their secondary education and who will be seeking a job.
And those needs are different from that of students who aspire to higher education.
The Foundation is always looking for better ways we can serve those students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
For instance, to provide them with the appropriate skills like English Language proficiency which will be useful throughout their school career and beyond.
Or to help with college readiness – admission applications, preparing for interviews or even sourcing and applying for scholarships.
In this regard the Foundation tries to come up with new and innovative programmes; adding another dimension to what we are already doing.
In this way our contribution is not just money; our heart is also in how we give – always looking to see how we can serve our community better. We look ahead.
We know that Education is a Game Changer and we intend for every child to have it.
