As life expectancy increases we will have a larger number of seniors in our community. This number will grow as health standards improve.
There comes a time in our life when even the most resilient amongst us will need a helping hand.
Many will get age related illnesses like Alzheimer’s, kidney failure, dementia etc. That’s when we need help.
It’s not always that the family members are able to care for an older relative as they too have their other commitments. That is the time when they need professional carers.
Old age is a tricky time and often one does not know where to turn for answers.
Yayasan Teratai hopes to provide alternatives for those who require care by its health care activities.
Our Goals in Healthcare
To bring awareness of the need for proper aged-care in our community. To do this the Foundation works with other organisations to enhance the standard of aged-care through education, public lectures, courses which are open to all carers and Care-Homes. We also work with Support Lines which the public can access for advice.
In general the Foundation supports all organisations and activities which fits in with our health care programme.
Leading by example, the Foundation started the Yayasan Teratai Aged Care Centre in 2012.
It offers the community the highest quality aged care and we hope to set the standard of care our seniors deserve.

Aged-Care Centre
We have been serving the community for almost ten years; providing a high standard of aged-care in a cheerful, peaceful and safe environment. Except for the supporting staff, our care-givers are mostly retired nurses who are trained in caring for geriatrics.
We provide nutritionally balanced home-cooked meals prepared fresh daily in our own kitchen.
The Centre also organizes activities and outings for our residents – to give them something to look forward to in their week.
We know how traumatic it is to be uprooted from familiar surroundings hence a “Home Away From Home” .
